Children With Special Needs

Hunt Club Farm’s Summer Farm Camp Program aims to be an inclusive learning experience. However, camp staff members are not trained to respond to behavioral or emotional emergencies that can arise with special needs children, such as Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Conduct Disorder, etc.

If you have questions about your potential camper’s needs, please call the office at (757) 427-9520 to speak to the Camp Director or Farm Owner. We are happy to discuss your child’s individual needs and Hunt Club Farm’s ability to accommodate them in the farm’s summer camp program.

Volunteer Counselors In Training Program:

Although it may be sad to watch your campers grow up, Hunt Club Farm has a unique opportunity for Summer Farm Campers when they “age out” of our Summer Farm Camp.

They can volunteer for our Volunteer Counselors in Training Program!

Designed for teens ages 13 to 15 years old, our Volunteer Counselors in Training Program teaches teens to be responsible for a work schedule and value a job well done.

Volunteer Counselors in Training must dedicate a minimum of two weeks of service to participate in the program, although five weeks or more of service is preferred.

Each year we invite a limited number of volunteers to join our Volunteer Counselors in Training Program.  If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Counselor in Training, please CLICK HERE for a program application.

What Our Campers Are Saying

Rusty loves animals and has been asking to return to camp since the moment I picked him up from the last day of 2020 camp. Rusty's favorite part of camp is getting to pick up the chickens!

CAMPER PARENT, 2020 & 2021

Victoria loves so many of the things you offer. Victoria loves riding horses, picking up chickens, and caring for the animals. One of her favorite things last year was seeing the goat that was just born.
