Children's Garden Field Trip
APRIL - JUNE
Our gardening program was developed in accordance with Virginia’s Science and Math SOL guidelines for Pre-K through 3rd Grade and has been honored with “The Golden Trowel Award.” & “National Grow Award.” Our “hands on” approach to learning will help your students better understand their study of plants and animals. Students will be able to plant seeds, see examples of the parts of a plant and discover what plants need to grow. We stress the importance of nature and the benefits that plants have on our environment. The students will get to visit our weather station, worm and bee habitats and see live examples of the life cycles of frogs, birds, & butterflies. The guided program takes approximately 1 hour. Our picnic area is also available for lunch or snacks to make your day complete.
