Oktoberfest began on October 12, 1810 with the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig, who later became King Ludwig I. His marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen was celebrated in Bavaria and continues to this day. Our Oktoberfest began in 1996 in a yard at the North End of VA Beach. The ‘Burpenfartzen Brothers’ decided to begin our own tradition of ‘Gemuchlicheit’ with our friends and family. A partnership with the Noblemen began soon after and the party has moved to various venues at it has grown over the years.
